REPORT: Rays Postseason Star Randy Arozarena Detained In Mexico After Assaulting Baby Mama’s Father

Talk about going from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in the matter of a month.

Just over a month after starring for the Tampa Bay Rays in the MLB postseason, young phenom Randy Arozarena finds himself in extremely hot water after he was detained in Mexico following an incident with his daughter, his daughter’s mother, and her father.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Pasan, Arozarena was trying to take his daughter from his baby mama when he allegedly assaulted her father.

Tampa Bay star Randy Arozarena was detained in Mexico after an incident in which he allegedly tried to take his daughter from her mother and assaulted the woman’s father, sources told ESPN, confirming a Yucatán Ahora report. MLB’s Department of Investigations is looking into it.

Because the incident involves family, any potential discipline from MLB against Arozarena would fall under the league and union’s joint domestic violence policy. The prosecutor handling the case in Mexico said today further information on the case will come in the next few days.
