It seems like we’re finally moving past the whole Tommy Pham-Joc Pederson fantasy football saga, but not without one final interesting take.
After returning from his three-game suspension for slapping Pederson during warmups prior to Friday’s Reds-Giants game, Pham was asked about the ordeal one last time. The Reds outfielder claimed he was past it, saying, “That’s something you really just put behind you.”
“Everyone in that group chat, everybody knows,” Pham added. “I’ve had some of those guys reach out to me. They already know what’s up.”

The altercation is said to have stemmed from a disagreement over their $10,000 fantasy football league. Part of the issue was what Pham claimed to be an illegal use of the I.R. spot by Pederson. And it’s also been revealed that Pederson sent a meme to the league’s group chat that insulted Pham’s team at the time, the San Diego Padres.
Pham told the Cincinnati Enquirer yesterday that Pederson wasn’t telling the entire story. He claims that there were more insults from the Giants outfielder, and he has the screenshots to prove it.

“Joc gave out half the story too, man,” Pham told reporters. “I don’t like that.”
“He’s sent a few,” Pham claimed, referring to Pederson’s insults towards the Padres. “It’s more than one and I’ve got screenshots to prove it. He sent more than a few jokes aimed at me or the Padres. That was only one. There was about four or five.”
Pham also claimed that Pederson’s interpretation of the I.R. rules for their league were incorrect, despite what Joc may have told the media previously. “And we had rules to the IR,” Pham said. “I know the ESPN app rules. We had our own individual rules.”
So who’s to blame for all of this? According to Pham, it’s mainly on the shoulders of Mike Trout, the league’s commissioner who Tommy claims could have prevented all of this.
“Trout did a terrible job, man,” Pham jokingly stated. “Trout is the worst commissioner in fantasy sports because he allowed a lot of (stuff) to go on, and he could’ve solved it all. I don’t want to be the (bleeping) commissioner; I’ve got other (stuff) to do. (Trout) didn’t want to do it. We put it on him, so it’s kind of our fault too because we made him commissioner.”
So there you have it. Joc Pederson got slapped because of his own comments, but also because of Trout’s inept commissioning…. but ALSO because of Pham and the other league managers who forced Trout to be the commissioner.
One person who’s not buying the whole “Blame Trout” thing is NFL Insider Adam Schefter, who had the following to say about the whole ordeal:
