It is never fun to be hit by a baseball, but it makes it even worse when that ball goes for the wrong spot on a man.
On Monday, The Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres opened a three-game series, but one umpire wished he never got assigned to the first game.
In the top of the sixth, Padres pitcher Blake Snell threw an arrant pitch that bounced off the dirt, missed catcher Brett Sullivan, as it bounced up and into the groin of the umpire.
You can hear the entire stadium groan in agony as they realized where he got hit.
As for the game itself, Fernando Tatis Jr. made his 2023 Petco Park debut while Ha-Seong Kim hit a three-run homer to lead the Padres to an 8-3 win over the Reds.
This game could’ve really gottne out of hand after a walk of Juan Soto loaded the bases once again with no outs, but the Padres couldn’t capitalize on anything else from there and the game headed off to the 9th inning.

The two teams will face each other again on Tuesday and hopefully no groin will take a beating from a baseball this time around.
