Fans are loving the lighting changes at the Boston Red Sox’s Fenway Park they’ve made a real difference.
A new, energy-efficient LED field lighting system was installed in the ballpark’s light towers during the off-season in an effort to make Fenway Park more sustainable, as well as provide better visibility for players and fans during games.
This was a long time coming as the original lighting system was installed way back in 1982.
The old system consisted of metal halide fixtures and this newer LED version delivers impressive clarity, as you can see in the photos below.
As mentioned above, fans are absolutely loving it.

The new lighting system is said to have a product life that is 10-20 times longer than the previous one and is more eco-friendly given the energy conservation and CO2 emission reduction properties.
This is a pretty big deal for Boston and was made possible via help from project partners Musco Lighting, ME Engineers, Sullivan & McLaughlin Electrical, Glancy Crane & Rigging, Midwest Helicopter, and Eversource
The city’s police and fire departments were also among the services involved.
The changes don’t stop at lighting, though. The Red Sox also remodeled the locker rooms, much to the delight of the players, as they have more storage space, closeable doors, LED lighting, USB charging stations, and lockable safes.
