A security team member working for the Tampa Bay Rays put some serious speed and skill on display in dealing with an unruly fan over the weekend.
The Rays suffered a 6-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Saturday night, so there wasn’t a whole lot to be happy about where fans were concerned. But they still got a bit of excitement at one point.
With the team trailing midway through the contest, a fan made the ill-advised decision to invade the playing field, taking off from the stands and running across the grass.
It appears this was an attempt to make the pitch incursion team look foolish, but one member put the afterburners on, chasing him down and tackling him to the ground with the dexterity of an NFL safety.
He was then hauled off the field in a most embarrassing fashion. You could check the entire thing out below:
Impressive right? The tackle’s one thing, but the speed used to close the distance prior to it is what really did it for the fans.
