Another week of baseball is in the books. To celebrate this Memorial Day, here are this week’s MLB power rankings of how teams have done so far.
Which MLB teams gained some ground in this week’s rankings?
30. Chicago White Sox (Last Week's Rank: 30)
The Chicago White Sox had some momentum in the middle of May. But they’re still at the bottom of the Power Rankings after going 1-5 last week. A lot of their talent will be on the trading block this month.
29. Miami Marlins (Last Week's Rank: 26)
The Marlins have been playing better baseball since trading Luis Arraez. But it still needs to be easier to believe in this team when their pitching staff is playing poorly.
28. Colorado Rockies (Last Week's Rank: 29)
The Rockies, like the Marlins, have been playing better baseball lately. However, their pitching staff could be better, and they are struggling to survive in a tough NL West. They can improve but won’t sniff a .500 record this season.

27. Oakland Athletics (Last Week's Rank: 27)
The Athletics snapped a bad losing streak last week, but they still have no life as a team. One week, they’re good, and the next week, they’re bad.
26. Los Angeles Angels (Last Week's Rank: 28)
The Angels are totally out of sync as their season continues to spiral. They went 2-4 last week; every week of winning is met with two weeks of losing.
25. New York Mets (Last Week's Rank: 19)
The Mets are a dumpster fire. This week, they went 1-5. Every moment they show hope is met with a loss. This is certainly the worst team in New York right now.

24. Pittsburgh Pirates (Last Week's Rank: 20)
The Pirates are playing good baseball but still feel their struggles from a few weeks ago. They continue to climb up the rankings but need consistency to get back into the playoff race.
23. Toronto Blue Jays (Last Week's Rank: 21)
The Blue Jays’ struggles continue after 2-4 weeks. This team differs from last season as they continue to hit the ball, get on base, and not score runs.
22. Houston Astros (Last Week's Rank: 23)
The Astros are one win streak away from being back in the playoff race. Recently, their problem has been winning two games in a row. After their last win streak, they’ve split every game over their last nine, and breaking the .500 mark seems harder than they expected.
21. Cincinnati Reds (Last Week's Rank: 25)
The Cincinnati Reds excitingly swept the Dodgers this week, controlling every game. But before that, they were 1-5 over their last six games. This MLB team has a lot of talent, but they must show it consistently.
20. Arizona Diamondbacks (Last Week's Rank: 25)
The Diamondbacks’ offense just doesn’t match their pitching. If they can’t find a way to make the two units consistent, this team can be scary good.
19. St.Louis Cardinals (Last Week's Rank: 24)
It’s imposing to see the Cardinals struggle to score but continue to win. This team ranks 29th in runs and is a game below .500.
18. Washington Nationals (Last Week's Rank: 22)
The Nationals snapped out of their slump this week but continue to struggle offensively. Their game plan has been to get on base and steal the next; they play fast and physically.
17. Texas Rangers (Last Week's Rank: 14)
The Rangers are another team that needs help finding its rhythm from last season. The pressure is worse for the Rangers coming off a World Series win, but they are still playing well without their two best pitchers.
16. Tampa Bay Rays (Last Week's Rank: 13)
The Tampa Bay Rays went 1-5 last week and fell below .500. They are a good team with a bad week. The Rays will bounce back with some easy series this week.
15. San Francisco Giants (Last Week's Rank: 17)
The Giants had a great week and returned to .500; they went 4-2 this week. But now they will play one of their most challenging stretches of the season next as they play the Phillies and then the Dodgers this week.
14. Detroit Tigers (Last Week's Rank: 16)
The Tigers have their streaks. This team has been up and down all season, and Detroit keeps floating around .500 because of it. But if their pitching continues to be productive, they will find their way back to the winning side soon.
13. Boston Red Sox (Last Week's Rank: 15)
The Red Sox continue to win due to excellent pitching, which will take them far if they do. Their offense isn’t dominating, but they’re doing enough to help them win. Boston needs to find a spark offensively, and they could be a top MLB team by the end of the season.
12. Minnesota Twins (Last Week's Rank: 12)
The Minnesota Twins had a good week against bad teams. This lineup is perfect, but they don’t produce against the top pitchers, and that’s what you need if you want to make the playoffs.
11. San Diego Padres (Last Week's Rank: 10)
The San Diego Padres are much better with Luis Arraez. They’re currently at .500 this season and have been much more productive at the plate with their new addition, but they have to stop letting themselves get shut out in games.
10. Milwaukee Brewers (Last Week's Rank: 7)
The Brewers’ offense is scary good right now. Milwaukee split its games this week but still has a lead in the NL Central. One more addition on offense might put them in the World Series race.
9. Seattle Mariners (Last Week's Rank: 11)
The Seattle Mariners lead the AL West, but they might only for a short time if their offense continues to be anemic. They have to find ways to win games when Julio Rodriguez struggles.
8. Chicago Cubs (Last Week's Rank: 8)
The Chicago Cubs had a tough week, losing twice to the Cardinals and Braves. This MLB team has really good starting pitching but had a really bad week.
7. Cleveland Guardians (Last Week's Rank: 6)
The Cleveland Guardians are on a nine-game winning streak and doing everything possible to hold off the Kansas City Royals in their division race. Cleveland is just a few pieces away from being very competitive.
6. Atlanta Braves (Last Week's Rank: 4)
The Atlanta Braves suffered a crucial injury to Ronald Acuna Jr and lost him for the season over the weekend. They still have a balanced roster, but things will get tough without last season’s MVP.
5. Kansas City Royals (Last Week's Rank: 9)
The Royals’ eight-game win streak snapped this week after playing great baseball for a few weeks. They’ve had a solid start to the season and are approaching Cleveland for the lead in the AL Central.
4. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last Week's Rank: 2)
The Dodgers were swept by the Reds this week and are currently on a five-game losing streak. Even after their struggles, they still have a five-game lead in the NL West.
3. Baltimore Orioles (Last Week's Rank: 3)
The Baltimore Orioles handled business this week, sweeping the White Sox after getting swept by the Cardinals. This team still has its moments when you question it, but overall, they’re really good when hot.
2. New York Yankees (Last Week's Rank: 5)
The New York Yankees are a scary team, and it’s become undeniable. Their offense is in the top three in all four major statistics, and their pitching staff is in the top four in all significant statistics. That’s a recipe for wins.
1. Philadelphia Phillies (Last Week's Rank: 1)
The Phillies just seem to find a way to defeat everyone. After a disappointing finish to their season last year, they seem focused on winning a World Series and being the best team in baseball.
