After another week of MLB games, it’s time to rank their performance. This week, there were many tough series, so we learned even more about who’s the best of the best and who needs to improve.
Which MLB team made a jump in this week’s rankings?
30. Colorado Rockies (Last Week's Rank: 28)
Things look terrible in Colorado right now as they’ve only won three games in two weeks. You won’t win many games when you’re 28th in runs scored and 30th in ERA.
29. Miami Marlins (Last Week's Rank: 30)
The Miami Marlins won the series against the Colorado Rockies, which lifted them out of the last spot in the power rankings. However, they gave up 20 runs against the Athletics the next week, so they won’t move far up the rankings.
28. Chicago White Sox (Last Week's Rank: 29)
The White Sox are pleased to have Eloy Jiminez as he’s been a huge factor in the recent wins. The Chicago offense is still in the bottom two of every offensive category, so wins will be scarce if they continue to play this way.

27. Los Angeles Angels (Last Week's Rank: 27)
The Los Angeles Angels are deeply feeling the absence of their star player, Mike Trout, this week. His presence was instrumental in their strong start in the first two weeks, but his absence is now keenly felt as the losses are piling up in Los Angeles.
26. Houston Astros (Last Week's Rank: 26)
I have a lot of hope for the Astros this season. Even as bad as their 12-22 season has been, they can likely make the playoffs. They’re picking up wins again, but they also have a long way to go.
25. San Francisco Giants (Last Week's Rank: 22)
The San Francisco Giants are facing a tough battle this season. They are struggling to find a way to win three games in a row, a challenge that’s not to be underestimated. It’s important to note that they are also playing a tough opening schedule, which adds to their difficulties.
24. St. Louis Cardinals (Last Week's Rank: 24)
The Cardinals are another team with a talented roster that needs help to win games. It’s not terrible in St.Louis, as the Cardinals are currently only four games below .500 and have an upcoming series with the Mets and Angels.
23. Arizona Diamondbacks (Last Week's Rank: 25)
The Diamondbacks have had a rough few weeks, facing the Padres, Dodgers, and Mariners in a row. However, their offense is still playing exceptionally well, ranking fourth in runs and ninth in batting average.
22. Toronto Blue Jays (Last Week's Rank: 18)
Toronto is very close to .500 but continues to struggle to find wins and as a result, their MLB rankings have suffered. They’ve lost their last four series and are dead last in the AL East standings.
21. Cincinnati Reds (Last Week's Rank: 14)
It was a 1-6 week for the Cincinnati Reds. As much potential as they have, they rank dead last in batting average and have had a rough time in the batter’s box this season.
20. Oakland Athletics (Last Week's Rank: 24)
The Athletics have won their last three series, going 7-2 over nine games. But it’s also tough to imagine them getting much better than what they currently are because they rank in the bottom five in runs, batting average, and on-base percentage.
19. Pittsburgh Pirates (Last Week's Rank: 17)
The Pittsburgh Pirates need to call up pitcher Paul Skenes from Triple-A. Their bullpen is playing amazing, but their offense needs help. So why continue to dominate people on the mound until the offense picks it up?
18. New York Mets (Last Week's Rank: 15)
The New York Mets continue to lose close games and sit right around .500 on the season. One week, they look great; the next, they look like a joke.
17. Tampa Bay Rays (Last Week's Rank: 21)
The Tampa Bay Rays snapped their cold streak with a series sweep of the New York Mets. But their star, Randy Arozarena, is playing really badly, batting just .143 on the season, and they need him to step up to compete.
16. San Diego Padres (Last Week's Rank: 20)
The Padres recognized their opportunity to make the playoffs and added a dominant bat to their lineup this week in Luis Arraez. They were already in the top ten in all offensive categories, and now they get a multi-hit machine in Arraez.
15. Washington Nationals (Last Week's Rank: 19)
Don’t mess with the Washington Nationals! Their young team continues to dominate and win the series after defeating the Toronto Blue Jays this week. I don’t think many people projected them to be .500 a month into the season and in the middle of the MLB power rankings.
14. Detroit Tigers (Last Week's Rank: 11)
It’s tough to judge the Tigers because they beat the bad teams and struggle against the good. They’re a lot better than last year, but they also have some work to do if they want to make it to the playoffs.
13. Seattle Mariners (Last Week's Rank: 12)
The Seattle Mariners lead the AL West currently and have turned their season around. They’ve only lost four games in two weeks and look like one of the best teams in baseball.
12. Kansas City Royals (Last Week's Rank: 9)
Kansas City continues to impress, and Salvador Perez is playing at MVP level. With a few extra bats in this lineup, the Royals will be battling for a playoff spot come October.
11. Minnesota Twins (Last Week's Rank: 13)
The Minnesota Twins finally ended their 12-game win streak. Just two weeks ago,, this team was 7-13,, and now they’re 19-14. Win streaks are powerful if you want to jump up in the power rankings.
10. Boston Red Sox (Last Week's Rank: 10)
Sitting at three games above .500, the Boston Red Sox are trying their best to keep pace in the tough AL East division. Their pitchers dominate, holding a 2.61-team ERA, ranking first in that statistic and 3rd in WHIP.
9. Texas Rangers (Last Week's Rank: 16)
The Texas Rangers look like Championship contenders again. After starting the year slow, they’ve found their groove and have picked up six wins in their last ten games.
8. Chicago Cubs (Last Week's Rank: 8)
The Cubs might be the biggest surprise in the MLB rankings this season after they’ve started the season on fire. They keep finding ways to put together win streaks, and that’s the best thing any team can do for themselves.
7. Milwaukee Brewers (Last Week's Rank: 7)
Milwaukee is one of the most dangerous teams in Major League Baseball as they continue to pick up wins however they need to. The Brewers will keep winning if they continue to play this well on offense and defense.
6. Cleveland Guardians (Last Week's Rank: 3)
The Cleveland Guardians are starting to show the world that they are one of the best teams and are here to stay. They are tied for the second-best record in the Major Leagues and haven’t slowed down yet this year.
5. Philadelphia Phillies (Last Week's Rank: 5)
The Philadelphia Phillies continue to dominate. They lost their star, Trea Turner, for a few games due to injury, but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how they played in their sweep of the Detroit Tigers.
4. New York Yankees (Last Week's Rank: 4)
The New York Yankees lost the lead in the AL East, but they would be at the top of most other divisions in baseball. They bounced right back from their series loss to the Orioles with a series win over the Tigers.
3. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last Week's Rank: 6)
The Dodgers are quickly climbing the MLB power rankings. Mookie Bets and Shohei Ohtani are playing MVP-level baseball, and they’re getting even more help from the rest of the lineup.
2. Atlanta Braves (Last Week's Rank: 1)
Last week, I had the Braves ranked as the top team in baseball, but now they’re tied for the best record after getting swept by the Dodgers and losing their series against the Mariners. They will turn things around sooner rather than later, though.
1.. Baltimore Orioles (Last Week's Rank: 2)
Last week, I said the Orioles would prove they are the best team in baseball, and they followed it up with a 3-1 series win over the Yankees and a series sweep of the Cincinnati Reds.
