Which MLB team went up in this week’s rankings and which fell down a few spots?
30. Chicago White Sox
Last week: 30
Since being ranked 30th last week in the Power Rankings, The Chicago White Sox have gone 1-5. Just 21 games into their season, Chicago has only found a way to win three games. Things are terrible for the White Sox right now.
29. Oakland Athletics
Last week: 23
The Athletics played much better than expected this week, but there isn’t much expected right now. The Athletics pulled off a shocking victory as underdogs against the New York Yankees on Monday morning, but the rest of the week was filled with losses for them.

28. Colorado Rockies
Last Week – 28
The Colorado Rockies pitching staff is playing horrendously this season. They currently rank 30th in both ERA and WHIP, and they’ve given up five or more runs in 17 of their 22 games.
27. Minnesota Twins
Last Week: 24
It was a tough week for the Twins in Minnesota. They lost both of their series and gave up 29 runs in six games. This week, they are facing the White Sox, so they will need to pick up wins to stay competitive in the AL Central.
26. Houston Astros
Last Week: 21
This week was terrible for the Houston Astros. In every game, they gave up five or more runs. It’s not a surprise they did that against the Atlanta Braves, whose lineup is playing amazingly on offense. But doing that against the Washington Nationals is unacceptable.

25. Miami Marlins
Last Week: 29
If you peek at the Miami Marlins roster, you’ll see that they’re a good MLB team. But you won’t be able to tell that by their recent play. They moved up in the rankings but are still dead last in the NL East.
24. St. Louis Cardinals
Last Week: 19
St.Louis had a division-round matchup this week with the Milwaukee Brewers, and as expected, it didn’t go well. The Cardinals lost all four games and gave up 22 runs.

22. San Francisco Giants
Last Week: 27
Just three games below .500, the San Francisco Giants have been playing decently this season. They split a series last week with the Arizona Diamondbacks and picked up a series win over the Miami Marlins.
21. Arizona Diamondbacks
Last Week: 13
The Arizona Diamondbacks’ pitching staff threw the MLB team into the playoffs last season. But in 2024, they are throwing the season away. This week, they gave up 32 runs in six games, which is why there was a steep drop in their ranking.
20. Seattle Mariners
Last Week: 20
The Mariners have won two series in a row after losing their first four. Their star, Julio Rodriguez, played like a madman this week, picking up two hits in every game they played.
19. Tampa Bay Rays
Last Week: 11
The Tampa Bay Rays are currently sitting at .500 on the season. IT certainly isn’t as bad or good as it looks in Tampa Bay. The positive is that their only three and a half games back in their division. The bad is that their pitching staff is giving up 4.32 runs per game.
18. Washington Nationals
Last Week: 25
It’s time to give the Washington Nationals some respect. They won both series week over the Dodgers and Astros, and CJ Abrams is slowly turning into a star in the Nation’s Capital for this often overlooked MLB team.
17. San Diego Padres
Last Week: 14
The San Diego Padres continue to be average, which is why they are ranked in the middle of the rankings this week. They won three in a row, then lost three in a row, which is exactly how their season has gone this year.

The Pirates did not play good Baseball this week, losing five of six games. They struggled to win because they scored more than two runs in only one game, which was their only win.

15. Texas Rangers
Last Week: 12
The Texas Rangers are only one game above .500, but luckily, they still lead the AL West. The season hasn’t been as good as the defending World Series Champions have wanted it to be, but it’s also not too bad.
14. Los Angeles Dodgers
Last Week: 3
While it’s exciting to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers. Their record is not what many expected, sitting at 13-11 on their year. They’ve gone 3-7 in their last ten games because the most exciting offense in Baseball has been underwhelming over the last few weeks.
13. Cincinnati Reds
Cincinnati has become one of the most exciting MLB teams in the league thanks to Elly De La Cruz and Spencer Steer. They’re in a tough divisional race early on in the season, but things have gone well for the Reds to start the year.
12. Toronto Blue Jays
Last Week: 17
The Blue Jays lost their first three series to start the year. Now they’ve turned things around by winning their last four. They moved up the standings and found ways to win, playing consistent Baseball, both offensively and defensively.
11. Boston Red Sox
Last Week: 18
The Boston Red Sox had a great week, going 4-1 and picking up a sweep over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Their pitching staff was great, giving up 16 runs in just six games. If they continue to get quality starts from their rotation, Boston will finish the season much better than expected.
10. Kansas City Royals
Last Week: 6
It was a tough week for the Royals, but they picked up a seven-game win streak early in the year, which has propelled them to a 13-10 record. They also have one of the hottest players in Baseball, Salvador Perez, who is starting his MVP campaign with his performance.
9. New York Mets
Last Week: 22
Everything is going great for New York Baseball fans because the Yankees and Mets are playing exceptionally well. The Mets have gone 6-1 in their last seven games, silencing doubters after a slow start to the year.
8. Detroit Tigers
Last Week: 16
Ranking the Tigers this high might be an overreaction, but it’s hard to overlook their performance this season. It must feel good to be a Tigers fan, as the MLB team has struggled over the last few seasons.
7. Chicago Cubs
Last Week: 10
The Chicago Cubs offense is pushing them up the standings this season as they’ve been one of the best in Baseball, ranking 6th in runs and 9th in OBP. If they continue to play this way, Chicago has a great chance to win the NL Central.
6. Philadelphia Phillies
Last Week: 15
The Phillies have won seven games in a row and have an unbelievable pitching staff. You don’t want to play Philadelphia right now.
5. New York Yankees
Last Week: 1
The Yankees’ rankings took a slight dip this week after they lost the best record in Baseball. However, the Yankees should be thankful they signed Juan Soto because he’s been keeping the MLB team on his back this season.

Last Week: 7
Everything is working for the Cleveland Guardians so far this season. They’ve gone 7-1 in their last eight games, and they look like championship dreams are beginning in their fans’ heads.

Last Week: 4
The Atlanta Braves have gone 7-1 over their last 8 games. When you have five players on their batting list above .300, like the Braves, you’re going to win a lot of games.
