Outfielder Willie Calhoun might be missing sometime out on the field after he was carted of the field after being hit with a 95 mph first-inning pitch from Los Angeles’ Julio Urias.
The 25-year-old was batting third when a 1-1 fastball came screaming in at his face. Calhoun was on the ground for 10 minutes before teammates and trainers helped him to a cart.
The Rangers say he was taken to a Phoenix hospital for further evaluation, according to ESPN.
In 2019, Calhoun was a beast at the plate, hitting home runs (21), RBIs (48) and batting average (.269) in 83 games for the Rangers.
