The Texas Rangers are being slammed by the highest office in the country this week.
President Joe Biden. who stressed the importance of wearing masks and continuing to abide by health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19, called it “a mistake” for the Texas Rangers to open their stadium at full capacity for Opening Day.
Biden made his comments as part of an interview with ESPN’s Sage Steele.
The Rangers’ Globe Life Field is the only Major League Baseball stadium that will allow 100% crowd capacity on its Opening Day.
“Well, that’s a decision they made. I think it’s a mistake,” Biden said. “They should listen to Dr. [Anthony] Fauci, the scientists and the experts. But I think it’s not responsible.”
Last month, the Rangers announced they intend to open their new stadium, Globe Life Field, to 40,518 fans for Opening Day on April 5 against the Blue Jays.
