With each week that passes, the #MLB gets better as the Playoff race heats up. Here are this week’s MLB rankings to show you which teams are hot and who are not.
Which teams are vying for the top spot in this week’s MLB rankings?
30. Chicago White Sox (Last Week's Rank: 30)
Oh, Chicago. This is a generationally bad season where you have to feel the pain of White Sox fans. This team is 20 games back of the next closest team.
29. Colorado Rockies (Last Week's Rank: 29)
The Rockies are close to being eliminated from playoff contention and have been struggling for months.
28. Miami Marlins (Last Week's Rank: 28)
Miami is in a two team race for second worst team in the MLB with Colorado, they simply haven’t been consistent enough this season.

27. Los Angeles Angels (Last Week's Rank: 27)
The Angels broke a long losing streak last week and found three wins in four games. The team is still struggling, but every few weeks, their offense shows up and wins them some games.
26. Pittsburgh Pirates (Last Week's Rank: 26)
I rank the Pirates so low because of their fall-off this season. Pittsburgh 19 games in August to put them outside of the Playoff hunt and virtually end their season.
25. Oakland Athletics (Last Week’s Rank 21)
The Athletics were fighting in August. They put together good weeks of wins, but now it’s back to normal. Oakland has lost 6 of their last 11 games.

24. Texas Rangers (Last Week's Rank: 25)
The Rangers season can certainly be marked as a failure. While they had a good week, they aren’t consistent, which is their biggest weakness.
23. Toronto Blue Jays (Last Week's Rank: 22)
Toronto is now 7-4 in their last 11 games and has found a hot streak for this offense. Sitting at five games below .500 this week showed why maybe they made the right decision by not trading stars.
22. Cincinnati Reds (Last Week's Rank: 24)
Cincinnati went 3-3 last week and thanks to some close wins. Their offense was big in big moments and they’re in position to get back to .500 now.
21. Washington Nationals (Last Week's Rank: 23)
The Nationals are young and hungry; in one series, they win two against the Yankees, and in the next, they lose to the Cubs three straight. The keyword is young.
20. Tampa Bay Rays (Last Week's Rank: 18)
Tampa Bay was right on the outside of the playoffs, but after this week, that might be finished. The Rays lost six of their last eight games, pushing them to seven games back in the Wild Card race.
19. St. Louis Cardinals (Last Week's Rank: 16)
The Cardinals are currently 69-69 and have been hot and cold over the last two weeks. The reason they’re .500 this season is because they win one week and lose the next.
18. San Francisco Giants (Last Week's Rank: 17)
The Giants are sliding at the worst time of the season. They are 3-7 in their last ten games and have been passed in the wild card race by the Cubs.
17. Seattle Mariners (Last Week's Rank: 14)
The Mariners have one weakness: they just can’t hit the ball. While they have an elite pitching stay, they’re 30th in the league in terms of batting average.
16. Detroit Tigers (Last Week's Rank: 20)
Detroit is above .500 and second to last in their division. The AL Central has just been that good this year.
15. Chicago Cubs (Last Week's Rank: 19)
The Cubs have won nine of their last 11 games. They are on fire right now at the perfect time. During that span, they had the best offense in baseball.
14. Boston Red Sox (Last Week's Rank: 12)
The Red Sox, like the Giants, are going cold at the worst time of the season. Boston’s stretch against potential playoff MLB teams has been one of disaster, going 3-8 in their last 11.
13. New York Mets (Last Week's Rank: 15)
The New York Mets are heating up again. They’re currently on a five-game win streak and have won seven of their last nine games. Now, it’s just half a game behind the Braves.
12. Atlanta Braves (Last Week's Rank: 13)
The Braves are four and three in their last seven games. But you have to give them credit for winning without so many key players in their lineup. Atlanta has had multiple injuries during the season that would sink most MLB teams.
11. Kansas City Royals (Last Week's Rank: 8)
The Royals have struggled over the last week. Luckily, they still hold a 4.5-game lead for the third wild card spot, but the Red Sox, Tigers, and Mariners are all close behind.
10. Minnesota Twins (Last Week's Rank: 11)
If you think the Twins are good now, wait until Byron Buxton is back in the lineup. He’s currently on his rehab stint, and the Twins are excited. Getting your best player back just in time to try to win the division is a huge help.
9. Houston Astros (Last Week's Rank: 10)
The Astros seem to be running away with the AL West. They’re holding on to a six-game lead over everyone else, and they’ve won five of their last six games.
8. Arizona Diamondbacks (Last Week's Rank: 9)
The Diamondbacks are 1st in runs, 2nd in batting average, and 1st in OBP. This team is dangerous when hot.
7. Cleveland Guardians (Last Week's Rank: 7)
Cleveland might struggle offensively, but they continue to win. Their offense has timely hitting mixed with the dominant pitching of their bullpen.
6. San Diego Padres (Last Week's Rank: 5)
The Padres are on fire! The best part is, just when you think they’re done. They win again! This team has gone from the middle of the pack before the All-Star break to a top team in baseball after.
5. Baltimore Orioles (Last Week's Rank: 6)
Baltimore has had a rocky few weeks, but now their star, Gunnar Henderson, is starting to perform at his best again.
4. Milwaukee Brewers (Last Week's Rank: 4)
The Brewers are quietly having the best offensive season in baseball. Every time you turn your head, they’ve put up another six-run performance.
3. New York Yankees (Last Week's Rank: 3)
New York is hands down the best team in the AL right now. Their only problem is pitching. But they still have a month to figure out the best rotation for the postseason.
2. Philadelphia Phillies (Last Week's Rank: 2)
The Philadelphia Phillies have a great offense and defense. They can compete with anyone and really need to focus on maintaining health for the postseason.
1. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last Week's Rank: 1)
The Dodgers continue to prove their strength and flex their muscle as the season goes on. Since opening day, they’ve dominated, and their record shows. They may be the only team to touch 100 wins this season.
