The MLB Playoff race is in full swing, with top teams losing their leads and dark horses raising the stakes. This week’s Power Rankings show shows where each team has moved as the final weeks of the #MLB season approaches.
Which MLB teams are gaining momentum at the top spot of the rankings in week 19?
30. Chicago White Sox (Last Week's Rank: 30)
Chicago has earned the award for worst team of the season with weeks to go. They currently sit at 14 gb, from second to worst in the whole league.
29. Colorado Rockies (Last Week's Rank: 29)
The Rockies have found their offense at home again, scoring 33 total runs last week at their home stadium. This season has certainly been Rockie for Colorado.
28. Miami Marlins (Last Week's Rank: 28)
They might not win, but they compete. The Marlins have found new life since the trade deadline. After losing all of their stars, they are still finding ways to win games here and there.

27. Los Angeles Angels (Last Week's Rank: 26)
The Angels just might be cursed. This organization hasn’t had any luck in years, and the losses are piling up yet another season.
26. Toronto Blue Jays (Last Week's Rank: 21)
Toronto has gone 3-7 in their last ten games and is falling apart slowly. Their season is basically over now because of how competitive their division is, as they sit dead last in the AL East.
25. Washington Nationals (Last Week's Rank: 25)
Washington is another team that makes games interesting while finding ways to lose. Last week, they had multiple exciting finishes; some went their way, and others didn’t.

24. Oakland Athletics (Last Week's Rank: 27)
The A’s might lose to the top MLB teams in the league, but they defeat the other bottom dwellers they play. They picked up two series wins last week over the White Sox and Marlins.
23. Cincinnati Reds (Last Week's Rank: 24)
The Reds finished last week 4-3, defeating the Marlins in a series. Cincinnati is another team whose playoff hopes are fading right before their eyes.
22. Texas Rangers (Last Week's Rank: 20)
Just two weeks ago, the Rangers had a chance to win their division, but losing streaks ended their playoff dreams. Texas is 4-11 in their last 15 games and is now 7.5 games back from the AL West lead.
21. Detroit Tigers (Last Week's Rank: 21)
Tough week for Detroit, but they did find a positive after ending their five-game losing streak.
20. Pittsburgh Pirates (Last Week's Rank: 17)
The Pirates were fighting for dear life the last few weeks to stay in the playoff hunt. But this week, they lost seven straight, likely ending their postseason dreams.
19. Chicago Cubs (Last Week's Rank: 19)
The Cubs picked up a few wins last week, going 5-2. They now sit just one game back from .500 and are a winning streak away from being right in the middle of the wild card race.
18. Tampa Bay Rays (Last Week's Rank: 23)
If the Rays were in the National League, they would be in the playoff race, but unfortunately, they sit 5.5 games back in the AL. They still have a fighter’s chance, but it’s very unlikely they will jump the teams ahead of them.
17. St. Louis Cardinals (Last Week's Rank: 18)
The NL wild-card race feels like an episode of Survivor. Five teams are currently battling for third place, trying their best to avoid losing streaks and maintain their position. St.Louis is one of the four, and their veterans have continued to lead the way for this organization.
16. Atlanta Braves (Last Week's Rank: 13)
Atlanta is doing everything in its power not to fall out of the last wild card spot, but its fate seems inevitable at this point, with its offense struggling. The Braves are 1-7 in their last eight games.
15. New York Mets (Last Week's Rank: 11)
The Mets control their own destiny, with just 0.5 games back from the Braves and one more series left against them. The challenge will be finding wins across their last 14 series, as eight of them come against teams currently in the playoffs if the MLB season ends today.
14. San Francisco Giants (Last Week's Rank: 16)
The Giants are coming. San Francisco has won 12 of their last 16 games and is continuing to silence critics along the way.
13. Seattle Mariners (Last Week's Rank: 14)
The new pieces in Seattle, such as Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner, are paying off in wins. Now that this team has Julio Rodriguez back from the IL as well, they can make a real push at the AL West.
12. Boston Red Sox (Last Week's Rank: 8)
The Boston Red Sox had a rough week getting swept by the Astros. They can bounce back, but they caught the wrong team at the wrong time.
11. Houston Astros (Last Week's Rank: 14)
Nobody should be surprised that the Astros are now leading the AL West and have closed the gap in the division race. This MLB team has been relentless over the last few weeks, picking up win after win and going 7-3 over their last ten games.
10. Kansas City Royals (Last Week's Rank: 7)
Rough week for the Royals as they finished going 2-3, losing both series. This team is still dangerous, and they can pass Minnesota in the standings this week with a series win.
9. Minnesota Twins (Last Week's Rank: 10)
Minnesota continues to fly under the radar as they have the seventh-best record in the MLB. The Twins pitching staff just needs to find ways to limit more runs to give them a chance in the playoff race.
8. San Diego Padres (Last Week's Rank: 6)
Don’t blink against San Diego. The Padres are the most dangerous team in baseball right now, picking up win after win and going 16-3 in 19 games.
7. Arizona Diamondbacks (Last Week's Rank: 12)
Just like the Padres, the Diamondbacks are on fire, making the NL West division race the best thing to follow in sports. Arizona is 15-3 in their last 18 games.
6. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last Week's Rank: 4)
The Dodgers can’t look behind them in the AL West race as both the Diamondbacks and Padres are slowly approaching in the division race. The good news for them is Mookie Betts should return any day now.
5. Milwaukee Brewers (Last Week's Rank: 9)
The Brewers are 5-1 in their last six games, finishing up another strong week. Their offense seems unstoppable, as they scored 8+ runs in four games in a row.
4. Philadelphia Phillies (Last Week's Rank: 2)
Philadelphia is struggling right now. A few weeks ago, they 100% looked like the best team in the league, and now they can barely find their offense.
3. Cleveland Guardians (Last Week's Rank: 1)
Cleveland finally snapped their seven-game losing streak with two wins over the Twins last week. The Guardians simply played the wrong MLB teams at the wrong time, as the Diamondbacks, Twins, and Orioles were hot when they faced off.
2. Baltimore Orioles (Last Week's Rank: 3
The best teams will always have their struggles in a long MLB season, but they also bounce back. Baltimore is a perfect example. After going 1-5 in a six-game stretch a few weeks ago, they’ve gone 9-6 since.
1. New York Yankees (Last Week's Rank: 5)
The Yankees have flipped the switch back on in August after a rough July. New York has found their stride, going 10-4 in their last 14 games since the end of last month.
