Let’s take a look and see how the rankings are for all the 30 MLB teams after week 17 of games in the league.
Which MLB teams gained some momentum in this week’s power rankings?
30. Chicago White Sox (Last Week's Rank: 30)
The White Sox have started their sale of players at the trade deadline. The rebuild will be needed, and hopefully, they won’t be in last place again among MLB teams next season.
29. Colorado Rockies (Last Week's Rank: 28)
It’s certainly rocky in Colorado. The Rockies went 1-5 last week and have returned to the second-worst team in the MLB.
28. Miami Marlins (Last Week's Rank: 28)
The Miami Marlins began their roster sale earlier this season when they moved Luis Arraez, but they might have ended it after the Jazz Chisolm trade.

27. Oakland Athletics(Last Week's Rank: 27)
Oakland had a winning week, going 5-2 and winning the series against the Angels. The boys in the Bay are out of the playoffs but still fighting for pride.
26. Los Angeles Angels (Last Week's Rank: 26)
The Angels officially are out of the playoff chase, and likely won’t see Mike Trout for a while as well as he had another setback in rehab.
25. Washington Nationals (Last Week's Rank: 20)
After a 2-4 week, the Nationals continue to slide down the rankings. While they don’t have trade pieces they do have promise for the future. But the reality of right now is their season is done.

24. Cincinnati Reds (Last Week's Rank: 24)
The Cincinnati Reds missed a few games this week due to rain, which helped them go 3-3 this week.
23. Toronto Blue Jays (Last Week's Rank: 25)
The Toronto Blue Jays are like the employees who work really hard right before the store closes. They played well this week, but the season is over for them. They should be trading assets for the future, but only time will tell as they haven’t made moves yet.
22. Tampa Bay Rays (Last Week's Rank: 19)
The Rays have been playing well despite watching their teammates leave day by day. The organization continued its cheap ways this week, avoiding paying multiple key players.
21. Detroit Tigers (Last Week's Rank: 18)
The Tigers still have a fighting chance at the last AL wild card spot. But the team has to pick up a winning streak soon to avoid falling too far behind.
20. Texas Rangers (Last Week's Rank: 23)
The Rangers ended their five-game winning streak with a three-game losing streak last week. Texas’ season is likely over unless they find a spark soon and win their division.
19. Chicago Cubs (Last Week's Rank: 21)
The Cubs have sunk. They’re a quality MLB team that just can’t get right. All season, their offense hasn’t been able to catch up to the pitching.
18. Pittsburgh Pirates (Last Week's Rank: 16)
The best asset in baseball is a strong bullpen. Luckily for the Pirates, they might have the strongest. The playoffs are within reach of Pittsburgh, but their offense has to reach with their pitching in order for them to make it.
17. St.Louis Cardinals (Last Week's Rank: 11)
The veterans in St. Louis continue to save the day for the team. This ball club has had its struggles, but that doesn’t slow them down, and it feels like it’s made them better.
16. San Francisco Giants (Last Week's Rank: 22)
The Giants continue to pick up steam, winning five of their last six games. This is another team that’s one-win streak away from being in the last NL Wild Card spot.
15. Arizona Diamondbacks (Last Week's Rank: 17)
The Diamonds are doing everything in their power to win the last NL Wild Card spot, but are they too hot too early? They’ve won 10 of their last 14 games, but now they will have to keep that pace to stretch their lead with four MLB teams trailing them closely.
14. Seattle Mariners (Last Week's Rank: 13)
Did the Mariners get a spark from new outfielder Randy Arozarena or did they just play the White Sox? Either way, this team is fighting to win the AL West but struggling to do it.
13. Houston Astros (Last Week's Rank: 10)
Houston is good, but also lucky their division is so bad. They will need to win the AL West to make the playoffs, and their veterans seem to be leading the way for that to happen.
12. Atlanta Braves (Last Week's Rank: 12)
The Atlanta Braves are floating through their season right now. Are they good? Yes, but can they make the playoffs with so many injuries? Probably not.
11. Boston Red Sox (Last Week's Rank: 9)
Things look good in Boston. They lost their series to the Yankees this week, but Duran continues to play like a monster, and they are one game back in the AL Wild card.
10. San Diego Padres (Last Week's Rank: 14)
They ended their seven-game win streak with a loss to Baltimore on Sunday. They now have a tough series with the Dodgers that could control their chances of winning the NL West.
9. New York Yankees (Last Week's Rank: 8)
New York made a huge splash trading for Jazz Chisolm, but they still have questions to answer as they have struggled for weeks, going 8-13 in their last 21 games.
8. New York Mets (Last Week's Rank: 14)
New York has been the best team in the league over the last month. But how long can they keep this up? It’s been an up-and-down year, and now is the time for them to avoid the downs.
7. Kansas City Royals (Last Week's Rank: 7)
Kansas City had a rough week, and it could get worse. But the best medicine for MLB struggles is a series with the White Sox, who they play this week.
6. Milwaukee Brewers (Last Week's Rank: 6)
The Brewers are on cruise control amongst MLB teams. It seems like they always split the week or go 4-2, but they continue to win.
5. Minnesota Twins (Last Week's Rank: 4)
Minnesota should be feared in the playoffs, and they aren’t out of the AL Central race either. They haven’t been as streaky lately, but they are winning.
4. Los Angeles Dodgers (Last Week's Rank: 5)
The Dodgers aren’t winning in an exciting way, but they don’t stop winning. Of course, it’ll be less fun without Mookie Betts, but the team finds ways to win with every lineup they use.
3. Cleveland Guardians (Last Week's Rank: 3)
Cleveland continues to cruise, but they aren’t killing anyone in every game. They continue to win. This week they picked up a series win over the Phillies, which could be a potential playoff opponent.
2. Baltimore Orioles (Last Week's Rank: 2)
The Baltimore Orioles returned to their dominating ways last week. The best part of this team is they never play badly for long.
1. Philadelphia Phillies (Last Week's Rank: 1)
Yup, the Phillies are still #1. I’d say they can easily win the World Series, but the favorite normally never does.
