There is a reason why the Oakland Athletics are getting set to play professional baseball in Las Vegas in the near future and it was proven once again this week during Opening Day.
Around Major League Baseball, fans couldn’t wait to come out and support their beloved MLB teams as they embark on a 162-game schedule to see if the team has gotten any better from the previous year.
Fans of the Oakland Athletics truly do not care about their team and they continued to show it on Thursday by not showing up to the game.
The MLB team lost possibly their final season opener at the Coliseum on Thursday night and the final attendance numbers were staggering.
Many fans at the Oakland Coliseum were still hanging out in the parking lot when Alex Wood delivered the first pitch of the 2024 MLB season for the Athletics against the Cleveland Guardians. Paid attendance for the game was 13,522, but many never actually came inside.

MLB Plans To Move The Oakland Athletics To Las Vegas
The 2024 MLB season is seemingly the final season in Oakland for the Athletics.
The A’s lease at the Coliseum expires after this season, and the team’s ownership hopes to erect a new stadium in Nevada in 2028. Major league owners overwhelmingly approved the team’s move to Las Vegas.
The goal of the Oakland A’s move to Las Vegas is to have a ballpark operational in time for the 2028 baseball season. They have landed on the Tropicana’s existing location, which will be demolished before any building can start there.
