Budding baseball star Paul Skenes has responded to the rumors suggesting he’s dating Olivia Dunne.
Skenes, who was selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in this year’s draft, confirmed the relationship in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette this week while urging fans to lay off her when she’s at his games.
The LSU Tigers star has been teasing links to the pitcher for several weeks now and is now regular at his games. But Paul is sick of the attention they’ve been getting and just wants to be left alone as he’s said that going out in public has been a “pain in the butt.”
“If one of us went out in Baton Rouge by ourselves, there’s probably gonna be someone there asking for something — picture, autograph, whatever,” he remarked (H/T TMZ).
Livvy made an appearance at Skenes’s Single-A debut in Bradenton this past Tuesday and there was such a fuss over her, she had to switch seats from behind home plate to the broadcast booth.
“I do wish she could come to a baseball game and just enjoy it,” Skenes continued. “It does irk me. I don’t have any control over it. She really doesn’t either. I’m sure it’ll get better as I go up levels, but that’s something I want for her.”

The 21-year-old also opened up on how they met, revealing his best friend was dating Olivia’s roommate and teammate Elena Arenas so things took off from there.
