Glen Kuiper is in the midst of his 18th season as the TV Play-By-Play Announcer for the Oakland Athletics. He may not make it to the finish line nor have a 19th season.
On Friday during a pregame show before the Athletics took on the Kansas City Royals, he stated something that he surely wishes he could have back.
“We had a phenomenal day. Ni–er league museum and Arthur Bryant’s BBQ.”
He clearly meant to say Negro Leagues Baseball, which is located in Kansas City, Missouri.
He would come back on the broadcast and deliver an apology.

I don’t know if Glen Kuiper will lose his job over this, but it will be a shame if a career goes down the drain from one slip of the tongue.
Kuiper attended the University of Iowa and earned a degree in Journalism. After graduation, Kuiper started his broadcasting career in 1979 as a sports anchor.
In 2004, he joined the Oakland Athletics’ broadcasting team as a television play-by-play announcer, calling games alongside former MLB players Ray Fosse and Bip Roberts.
Known for his smooth and energetic broadcasting style, Kuiper has become a familiar voice for A’s fans.
He is the only positive thing for a team that has been terrible for a long time.
