Houston Astros superstar outfielder Kyle Tucker is one of the top names to monitor between now and the July 30 MLB trade deadline.
The 27-year-old Kyle Tucker is signed through the 2025 season, and then he’ll have the chance to hit free agency for the first time in his career. If the Astros are well out of the playoff race by the trade deadline, they’ll likely be a seller for the first time in almost a decade.
Houston looked finished after a 12-24 start to the season, but a seven-game winning streak has propelled them back to .500. Entering play this weekend, the Astros are 6.5 games behind the Seattle Mariners for tops in the AL East.
But if the Astros decide to sell, Tucker will be their most valuable trade chip. And just about any team in the playoff race should have interest in the two-time All-Star.
At Bleacher Report, Robbie Hyde recently proposed an interesting trade idea that has Houston dealing Kyle Tucker to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for four of the Phillies’ top prospects in Mick Abel, Justin Crawford, Devin Saltiban and Gabriel Rincones Jr.

The Phillies rank near the very top in every major offensive category. But a World Series champion and proven playoff performer like Tucker could very well help this team get over the top after tough losses in the 2022 World Series and 2023 NLCS.
Kyle Tucker Is The Ideal Target For Phillies
The Astros have played in seven straight ALCS, winning four AL pennants and two World Series championships in that span. But it may be time for a retool as key players continue to get up there in age, and Tucker would score a significant return.
Adding Tucker to a lineup with Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, Kyle Schwarber and Alec Bohm would make Philly the team to beat in the postseason, with all due respect to the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees.
