The New York Yankees have the best record in baseball, yet the team still might be World Series bound since the Houston Astros seemingly spank them whenever they play against each other.
Astros won the series 5-2, and those two wins by the Yankees came by way of game-winning hits by Aaron Judge. Other than that, the team could do much of nothing against them.
Maybe they need to bring in a generational talent to help out.
According to recent reports from MLB insider Jack Curry, the New York Yankees have reached out to the Nationals to express interest in making a blockbuster trade for Soto.
“Yankees have reached out to express interest in acquiring Juan Soto. Now it’s a matter of the Nationals telling the Yankees (and other teams) what they want for a generational talent. It’s early in process. Both sides must determine if there’s a match in terms of talent exchange,” Curry reports.
According to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, the Yankees would likely have to give up top prospects Anthony Volpe and Jasson Dominguez as a starting point for a blockbuster trade offer.

It’s a high price to pay, but the team desperately wants to get back to the World Series and win it all.
