The Colorado Rockies are investigating a fan using the N-word while Miami Marlins outfielder Lewis Brinson was at the plate OVER THE WEEKEND.
“The Rockies have zero tolerance for any form of racism or discrimination, and any fan using derogatory language of any kind will be ejected and banned from Coors Field,” the team said.
After social media started doing some digging, somebody zoomed in on video of the incident and seemed to find the fan who was yelling in the background. It then became a debate whether he said the n-word or he was yelling ‘dinger,’ who is the mascot of the team.

While the apparent slur was picked up by microphones, it went unnoticed by Lewis and the Marlins during the game.
“Neither Lewis, nor any other Marlins on the field or in the dugout, heard what was shouted,” Miami spokesman Jason Latimer told the Associated Press in a text. “We brought the matter to the attention of the Rockies. How the matter is being handled, I would have to defer to them.”
