Marcell Ozuna has been arrested on domestic violence charges, per multiple reports. The Atlanta Braves star outfielder has been charged with aggravated assault strangulation and misdemeanor battery — family violence.
Ozuna, who was already on the Injured List, is most certainly going to be suspended by Major League Baseball and likely won’t see the field again this season.
“We learned of Marcell Ozuna’s arrest earlier this evening and immediately informed the commissioner’s office,” the Braves said in a statement. “The Braves fully support Major League Baseball’s policy on domestic violence which stresses to the fullest that our society cannot and will not tolerate domestic violence in any form.

“Until the investigation is completed, we will have no further comment and all inquiries into the matter should be referred to the office of the commissioner.”
The incident happened nearly one year after Ozuna’s wife, Genesis, was arrested on domestic violence charges when she hit him with a soap dish in the face.
Ozuna, in the first year of a four year, $64 million deal signed this past offseason, had just been placed on the injured list due to two dislocated fingers suffered when sliding.
He had a disappointing .213/.288/.356 slash line in 30 games this season before the injuries.
