There’s no shortage of teams interested in Alex Bregman but none have come up with an offer to match his requirements. Spring training is approaching and Bregman is still on the lookout for a job. The Houston Astros are open for a reunion, but Bregman doesn’t seem to budge with his demands.
It’s surprising to find top talent like Bregman still in the free-agent market. Bregman is sure to find a team before the regular season. It’s just a matter of time, but he might need to compromise on his demands. MLB insider Jeff Passan believes the Yankees will be a perfect fit for the third baseman.
“It’s wild to me that Alex Bregman is sitting out there right now, and the Yankees aren’t in on him. The Yankees have a hole right now, it’s either third base or second base. He’s been a guy who has been awesome in the playoffs. He is someone who is rock solid defensively, a phenomenal base runner, makes a ton of contact,” Passan said in a video via Talkin’ Yanks.
Passan thinks the Yankees can make good use of Bregman defensively, and they could take advantage of his free agency.
“It’s one things to say no to Bregman in November or December. IT’s completely different when we are few weeks away from spring training. Guy’s looking for a job, the opportunity to poach him at a lower price is eminently available,” Passan continued.

The Yankees could give one last shot for Bregman before spring training. With the market drying up and Bregman still open to exploring options, the Yankees could give him an offer before spring training.
The Yanks need to beat the other teams, especially the offer Alex Bregman received from the Astros. Apart from Bregman, Pete Alonso is still on the market and is waiting for the right offer to come his way.
