Juan Soto’s free agency saga is far from over as the ongoing battle continues. The Mets and the Yankees are huge favorites to sign Soto, but a number of teams have been linked with rumors. The Toronto Blue Jays started things off by meeting Soto. On the other hand, the Boston Red Sox are also believed to be pursuing the slugger.
Soto’s free agency rumors are getting heated up every day. Additionally, several reports have linked Soto with teams like the Red Sox. Recently, MLB insider Jeff Passan took a jibe at reporters spreading fake updates on Soto’s rumors. Passan thanked the reporters who didn’t makeup stories.
“I am thankful for reporters who don’t make up stories. I am also thankful that Juan Soto has not agreed to any contract, which means you can get off Twitter and go spend the holiday with your family. Happy Thanksgiving,” Passan wrote on X.

Yankees Upgrade Their Offer For Juan Soto Amid Tough Competition
The Yankees are doing everything in their power to sign Juan Soto. Despite meeting with the slugger, Soto is exploring other options. Scott Boras is playing the bargaining game as he expects his client to get the biggest contract.
With the Mets closing in, the Yankees have a tough competition. Hence, they decided to upgrade their initial offer to the outfielder. There are no further details or numbers about the contract, but it’s certain that they are all out to bring him back to the Bronx.

Apart from Soto, the Yanks are also believed to be linked to Alex Bregman, Walker Buehler, Max Fried, and Corbin Burnes. Bregman is said to be a backup plan in case they do not land Soto. At present, the Mets are the biggest challenge for the Yanks. Hal Steinbrenner will need to make it past Steve Cohen and his team.
