Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has a strong reputation that has traveled all the way to the Bronx. Guerrero is a proud Blue Jay who seems happy around his teammates. Toronto is fortunate to have the star slugger play on their squad. However, like all good things come to an end, Guerrero’s stint in Toronto is not far from being over.
Guerrero will be a free agent after 2025. Along with the All-Star slugger, Bo Bichette, Chris Bassitt, and a few other key players will hit the free-agent market. The trade market is expected to blow up for the star slugger if the Blue Jays fail to give him an extension.
Vladimir Guerrero is not fond of the Yankees for various reasons, but many players change their stance when it comes to being traded. Moreover, according to Jim Bowden of the Athletic, the Yankees would not hesitate to sign Guerrero.
“If they could, the Yankees would make that trade in a heartbeat. But if the Yankees actually proposed that deal to the Blue Jays, all they would hear is a dial tone. That type of offer doesn’t even get a response,” Bowden said.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Could Be The Perfect Replacement For Anthony Rizzo
The Yankees seem to be far from giving a contract to Anthony Rizzo. That said, they will need a strong replacement for Rizzo. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will be the perfect fit for the team if the Blue Jays decide to part ways with the slugger.
Toronto will most likely try to retain Guerrero, but plenty of teams will be ready to pursue the star. As for Guerrero, he hated the Yankees and was pretty open to playing with any team.

“Sometimes one says things. It is not that I am trying to take back what I said about the Yankees. But this is a business. I sat down and spoke with my dad and my family, and this is a business,” Guerrero said.
Guerrero to the Yankees would be a great trade, as they can use his skills. Bowden might be right; the Yanks might jump at the opportunity for Guerrero.
