Two-time World Series Champion Brandon Crawford has announced his retirement after 14 seasons in Major League Baseball. Crawford, known for his incredible career with the San Francisco Giants, had decided to call it an end.
The veteran shortstop became a free agent after the 2024 season, but his days in MLB have ended. Crawford had a great career and a huge fan following, especially in San Francisco. After the news of his retirement broke, MLB fans took to social media to pay tribute to the former star.

Such a great teammate and better person. In 2017 when he was on Team USA and there was a scrimmage vs the Twins and I was a minor leaguer backup arm brought over to the game. Before the game Craw came over and chatted with me for 15 mins checking in on an old teammate. Congrats!

Brandon Crawford Pens Farewell Note On Instagram
Brandon Crawford took to Instagram to pen a farewell note on his retirement. During his career, the 37-year-old appeared in three All-Star games. Crawford was also a four-time Gold Glove Winner. The veteran has a great career to reflect upon after years of hard work and success.
“During this time of the year, I am constantly being reminded of the things in my life that I am most thankful for. Baseball is one of them. “Baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and for the rest of my life I will be thankful for the opportunities and experiences it has given me,” Crawford wrote.
Crawford further stated that he’s been grateful for his career, but it’s time to take a step back and enjoy retirement with his loved ones.
“Time is precious. I’m incredibly grateful for all the years I spent playing the game I love, but now it is time for me to spend it with the people who I’m most thankful for. Thank you to all of you who have been there for me throughout the years. It’s been an unbelievable ride,” Crawford continued.
The MLB world is sure to miss one of the most talented players. As for Giants fans, it’s a dull day to see their hero retire. Crawford had played a crucial role for the Giants for over a decade. Giants fans will remember his legacy and contribution to the team. Apart from Crawford’s retirement, MLB teams have started signing top free-agent players.
