This MLB offseason had a turn of exciting events that shocked many. With several surprise trades and free-agent signings, teams are still making moves before spring training. The race is not over, as a handful of top free-agent players are available on the market.
It all started off with Juan Soto signing with the Mets and the Yankees acquiring several top players. Yet, one team has navigated the free agency market carefully. It’s none other than the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The defending World Series champions took advantage of the deferred system. They signed players despite having $1 billion deferred money. They traded, acquired free agents, brought in one of the top international pitchers, and shocked everyone by tapping into the African market.
The Dodgers have signed the first South Sudan player to MLB. Joseph Deng is the new player to sign with the team. Fans have reached the peak of their frustration after they acquired Roki Sasaki and their latest signing. Several fans are upset that the Dodgers get them all. Here’s a look at some reactions from X.

Joseph Deng Makes MLB History With The Dodgers
The Dodgers and their new signing, Joseph Deng, have made history in the league. Being the first South Sudanese player to sign with a major league team has opened doors for future prospects. The franchise has expanded its market as it seems unstoppable.
Deng is 6-foot-7 and has the potential to be a dominant pitcher in the future. He weighs 185 pounds and can throw a fastball at 95 mph. The Boys in Blue are making good use of their international signing period by pursuing talented players.
The Dodgers were waiting for Roki Sasaki’s decision to move forward. Now that Sasaki is on their squad, they have used their international pool money well. MLB fans are unhappy that Sasaki picked the Dodgers over other teams.
