The New York Yankees have had their fair share of signings this offseason. They failed to get Juan Soto, but they picked up some top sluggers and pitchers to bolster their lineup. On the other hand, the Los Angeles Dodgers have signed some of the best stars for their team.
The Dodgers brought back key players from last season and signed some top free agents. Furthermore, they acquired international agent Roki Sasaki. The Dodger squad is building a super team to win as many championships as possible. Some fans and MLB insiders believe the league must investigate their signings.
At the same time, several fans and insiders feel the other teams are simply not pursuing players. MLB broadcaster Michael Kay says that Yankees fans need to tone it down a little.
“I’ve been getting a lot of hits on my timeline. It’s outrageous. What can Major League Baseball do? And these are obviously from Yankees fans. It’s terrible for the sport blah blah blah… Yankee fans gotta like stand down just a little bit. Because you didn’t mind when it was you. Yankee fans didn’t mind when it was them. Now they mind that it’s somebody else, and that to me is disingenuous,” Kay said via the Michael Kay Show.
Garry Sheffield Jr. Thinks The Yankees Have Lost Their Appeal
Former Yankee legend Garry Sheffield’s son, Gary Sheffield Jr., stated that the Yankees have lost their appeal. When it comes to signing players, the Bronx Bombers have failed against teams like the Dodgers.
Sheffield further states the Dodgers are not to blame for their disaster. Despite being one of the biggest franchises in the sport, they have failed to win a World Series title in the last 16 years. Sheffield feels the Yanks cannot sign big agents like how they did in the past. He further says the Yankees will be winless even if the Dodgers were not in the picture.

“I’m less outraged, having understood that if the Dodgers ceased to exist, we wouldn’t be doing the job anyway,” Sheffield wrote via X.
All I know is my Yankees couldn’t win a World Series over a 16-year span before the Dodgers “ruined baseball.”

I’m less up in arms having understood if the Dodgers ceased to exist we wouldn’t be getting the job done anyway.
The Yankees seem to have added enough players this offseason, but the Dodgers continue to sign free agents. A few stars like Anthony Rizzo have gathered interest from other teams.
