Juan Soto has been the highlight of the MLB offseason after hitting the free agency market. Soto is undoubtedly one of the best sluggers right now. It’s fair to say that he deserves a huge contract with his undying performance. The talented slugger is in vast demand, and several teams are fighting to sign him.
The Mets and Yankees are the front runners to sign Soto, with other teams to follow. Despite Juan Soto saying he wants to win, many believe that he will pick the team that will play him the most. In a recent YouTube podcast with CBS Sports, MLB analyst Jim Bowden believes that Soto and his agent, Scott Boras, will aim for the highest bid.
“Juan Soto is not going to leave a penny on the table. I believe he and his agent Scott Boras are going to make sure that they maximize what he can get. The question I have for the Yankees is will Hal Steinbrenner match the Mets offer,” Bowden said.
Bowden feels that the Yankees will not be able to match the Mets’ offer. He further stated that the Dodgers have the best team to sell, but the money will play a crucial factor in persuading Soto.
Philadelphia Phillies To Meet With Juan Soto After The Dodgers
Juan Soto’s demand keeps getting higher as the Philadelphia Phillies join the list of another team. The Phillies will be the sixth team to meet the slugger. The Mets, Yankees, Dodgers, Blue Jays, and Red Sox have already met Soto.

With the Phillies planning to fly down to California, the competition has only become more brutal. The Phillies can be another possible landing spot for Soto. Philadelphia will have two big salaries coming off their payroll: Kyle Schwarber and JK Realmuto. With that in mind, they could get the money to pursue Soto.
For now, the Mets and the Yankees have a better chance than any other team. However, things could change, and Scott Boras will always play his bargaining game.
