The MLB world is in prayer this week after Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks announced Sunday that he will begin undergoing treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
His treatment begins on Monday and he has every plan to get back on the field.
“I am resolved to embrace the fight and overcome this new challenge with the same determination I have used when facing other obstacles in my life,” he said in his statement:
The 33-year-old is a three-time All-Star and a two-time first-team All-MLB player.
He is heading into his third season with the Chicago White Sox in 2023.
