Mattress Mack put on a very solemn demeanor while watching his Houston Astros lose Game 7 of the ACLS to the Texas Rangers on Monday night.
Apart from being an Astros fan, Mattress Mack bets large sums on the team and would have gotten a $26.5 million payout had they won.
Mack, whose real name is Jim McIngvale, made betting history when he won $75 million due to the Astros coming out on top in last year’s World Series. However, he wasn’t so lucky this time as Texas would run out to an 11-4 result.
The Rangers rushed out of the blocks on Monday, scoring three home runs to take an early lead in the first six innings. Corey Seager’s 440-foot shot in the first inning set the trend, and Texas just rolled on from there.
McIngvale had three separate bets on the Astros that cost him $3 million in wagers. But the potential payout was a whopping $26.5 million, which was very much worth the risk. As you can see above, he was quite distraught while watching Houston blow it.
While he made a killing in 2022, Mack does have a knack for picking the wrong team and has a Drake-like reputation when it comes to betting. Still, he will be back throwing money on the Astros when the next opportunity comes around.
