Mattress Mack was simply defending his team.
The Gallery Furniture owner and Houston legend found himself trending on social media as many saw a side of him they had never seen before. Dressed in Astros gear from head to toe, McIngvale can be seen on video sending f-bombs to some Phillies fans while several other men try and keep him away.
He would eventually share his side of the story with The Houston Chronicle:
“We were walking out and some drunk old man said to pull the jerseys off all the Astros and show their buzzers. And then he said, ‘Jose Altuve will never make the Hall of Fame because he is the biggest cheater ever,’ and that’s when I lost it…
My blood pressure got a little high but that’s alright, I lived through it. I will always take up the Houston Astros.”
He continued talking with another reporter as he explained that he had no regrets about what he said.

With $10 million riding on the Astros to win the World Series, with an average payout of 7.5-to-1 odds, McIngvale would bring in a record-setting payout of $75 million if Houston can come back and defeat the Phillies.
On top of that, he would have to refund qualifying customers for their purchases as part of an ongoing promotion at Gallery Furniture.
Game 3 was not a good night for the Astros as they got ran out of the building following a 7-0 loss.
The team as well as Mattress Mack are hoping to be in a better mood for Game 4 tonight.
