Many MLB fans seem to have forgotten about Kike Hernandez being a free agent. The Dodgers star had a strong performance in the 2024 playoffs. It’s safe to say that the team would not have won the World Series without Hernandez.
Despite his average regular season, Hernandez was one of those players that went hot in the playoffs. The Dodgers offered Hernandez a one-year contract, and he’s now on the lookout for a new team.
A Look At Kike Hernandez’s Landing Spots
3) Miami Marlins
The Marlins are in need of players, especially sluggers like Hernandez. Miami is trying its best to get some experienced players on the team. Hernandez to the Marlins on a two-year deal would make sense for both. Hernandez received a late offer from the Dodgers for the 2024 season. The teams that are pursuing Hernandez are expected to do the same.
2) Houston Astros
The Houston Astros is where Hernandez began his career. A reunion in Houston is possible if they give him a short-term deal. Hernandez loves the Dodgers, but he might not have much of a choice if they do not give him an offer. The Astros are adding sluggers to the team, and Hernandez will be a good fit.
1) Los Angeles Dodgers
The fans love him, and the Dodgers have been comfortable with Hernandez and the aura he brings to the clubhouse. Los Angeles made several moves this offseason, their latest being the addition of Teoscar Hernandez. Despite the deferred money, they are one of the top destinations for the slugger.
Kike Hernandez Is Keen On Remaining With The Dodgers
Hernandez clearly wants to play for at least one more year in Dodger Blue. The Dodgers are where he built his career and played the most baseball. He’s also in awe of the team’s fan base.

“From the bottom of my heart, I’ve always said I never know how to repay this fanbase for the way that they love me, but this year, signing late, coming into spring training late, and joining a team that has a lot of expectations, I figured the best way to repay this fanbase was when I get my chance in October, I do my thing and help this team win. I feel like I did just that,” Hernandez said via the Dodgers Nation.
Just like Hernandez, Alex Verdugo is waiting for a team to give him a potential offer. An NL West contender might be the perfect landing spot for Verdugo.
