While everyone awaits the decision of Shohei Ohtani, it appears as though we could be seeing another big move unfold in Major League Baseball.
This one has the San Diego Padres moving Juan Soto to the New York Yankees in a move that will see the young slugger donning pinstripes for the foreseeable future.
The news was announced by MLB Insider Jon Morosi, who told viewers on the MLB Network to “stay tuned,” because a deal could very likely be finalized at some point today.
“I do believe there is a change this is going to get finalized today,” he said on the air. “There could be a trade agreement in place for Juan Soto to be a Yankee today.”
The Yankees just acquired outfielder Alex Verdugo in a trade with the arch-rival Red Sox, in exchange for three right-handed pitchers.

As for the details of the Yanks’ latest trade, we should know all the details as soon as it happens…which could be today.
