Former Los Angeles Dodgers and World Series pitcher Jack Flaherty is on the edge of ending his free agency. Flaherty had a vibe with the Dodgers, but the Boys in Blue have stayed away from retaining him.
The Dodgers have Roki Sasaki, Blake Snell, and Shohei Ohtani returning to their starting lineup in 2025. That said, there is no reason for the team to re-sign Flaherty. The All-Star pitcher drew interest from several teams this off-season, but none were ready to give him an offer.
Recent rumors suggest that Jack Flaherty is set to join an AL West team in a blockbuster deal. However, Flaherty is predicted to remain in Los Angeles with the Angels. The Angels hope to get back in the playoffs after a frustrating run in the last ten years.
Fans are eager for the team to bring in top players, and the Angels are poised to bring in Flaherty in a blockbuster deal. According to MLB insider David Schoenfield, the Halos will sign Flaherty before spring training with a $15 million deal for five years.

The Angels are predicted to sign him to a $100 million deal.

“The Angels’ payroll is about where it was last season but still well below the luxury tax threshold — and they certainly could use another starting pitcher if they’re serious about trying to contend in what could be a wide-open American League West,” Schoenfield wrote.
San Diego Padres Were Also Rumored To Pursue Jack Flaherty
The Angels stand a huge chance to sign Flaherty, among other teams. Prior to the Angels, the San Diego Padres were also rumored to sign the World Series pitcher. The Padres need arms to help bolster their starting rotation.

However, they are dealing with several other issues with their ownership. San Diego needs a right-handed pitcher, and Flaherty fits the bill. Yet, they have not made an attempt to give him an offer.
Flaherty will not wait for more options to come his way and will jump at the opportunity if the Angels give him $15 million. The Halos have improved their team but still have a long way to go. MLB trade rumors continue as teams pursue top pitchers like Dylan Cease.
