Jack Flaherty won his first World Series title with the Los Angeles Dodgers last year. The Dodgers acquired Flaherty from the Detroit Tigers after he posted a strong 2.95 ERA in the first half of the season. Flaherty’s stint with the team was short-lived, as he hit the free-agent market right after the season ended.
He helped the Dodgers win their eighth World Series title while recording a 3.58 ERA. Flaherty had a decent run, but he also had a few rocky moments during the World Series. The Dodgers seem to have no plan of retaining Flaherty, as they just needed him to take up the spot of Tyler Glasnow last season.
A few teams are in pursuit of Flaherty, but his chances with the Baltimore Orioles are over. In a recent video on Foul Territory, Orioles insider Rich Dubroff gives his brutally honest reaction about Jack Flaherty’s pitching with the Orioles.
“I would actually kind of be surprised if Flaherty came back to the Orioles. He didn’t have a good time there. He was there for the last two months of the 2023 season and he didn’t pitch well. If he’s asking for a five-year deal, I don’t know that they’re going to be interested. I think they’d rather go the trade route,” Dubroff said.

San Francisco Giants Predicted To Pursue Jack Flaherty For $92 Million
Not so long ago, the Orioles were predicted to be in pursuit of Flaherty. After Dubroff’s interview, it makes sense to see why the O’s are staying away. Flaherty’s run with the Orioles was indeed a major struggle after he posted a 6.75 ERA with a 1-3 record.
The latest rumors suggest that the Giants are expected to pursue Flaherty for $92 million. The Giants have lost Bake Snell in free agency and have a hole to fill. Flaherty will be a good fit in San Francisco alongside Logan Webb and the other starting pitchers.

The Giants are keen on strengthening their team after adding Willy Adames to their offense. San Francisco needs a pitcher, and Jack Flaherty can be the one. The demand for starting pitchers continues to grow as teams pursue this offseason. Max Scherzer has garnered interest from two AL East contenders.
