Even if the Houston Astros are completely playing by the rules, the allegations of cheating will always follow them and that is the case during their series against the Boston Red Sox.
The newest allegations have resurfaced following their Game 5 win in the ALCS and whistling is the claim this time around. A few years ago when the team played the Yankees in the ALCS, some on the team accused the Astros of cheating by relaying signs to batters using a whistling sound.
Major League Baseball conducted an investigation, and although theu heard whistling, it could not be proven to be cheating since whistling happens in every single game that has ever existed in baseball.
The topic came up again during 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher and Rich Show” on Thursday when viewers noticed a whistling sound during Houston’s 9-1 win over the Red Sox. Listen below as Yordan Alvarez hits a home run over the green monster off Chris Sale.
That whistling sound was also observed before Jose Altuve hit a solo home run in Game 4 to tie the game in the top of the eighth.

Just like the investigaton before, nothing will ultimately come of this, but it does give the opposing fan base ammo to blame a loss or series loss on the possibility that they were cheated.
The Boston Red Sox should be the last franchise to speak on cheating allegations given their history as well.
