About nine days ago when the Houston Astros were taking on the Minnesota Twins when George Springer blew a fuse on umpire Angel Hernandez for calling him out on strikes on a pitch that was low.
He wasn’t thrown out, but his anger boiled over to where cameras caught him calling the head umpire a name that many consider to be homophobic.
Outsports reached out to MLB regarding the issue, and the league confirmed Springer had been disciplined for his actions.
MLB released the following statement to Outsports:
“This inappropriate behavior was addressed with Mr. Springer and the Houston Astros … and he has been disciplined.”
