Last week, the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox had a massive melee on the field Royals right-hander Brad Keller plunked Tim Anderson in the butt for pimping a home run two innings earlier.
What couldn’t be heard on the broadcast was the Chicago White Sox shortstop calling Keller, who is white, a “weak-ass f—— n—-.”
MLB decided to suspend him one game for that action.
Micah Johnson, who spent parts of three seasons with the White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves decided to give his thoughts on the entire situation.
The free agent second baseman took to Twitter and pinned a letter that was directed to all White people who had an issue with a Black man saying the n-word.
“It’s not your job to police how black people use it. … You won’t ever have to endure a barrage of N-words used to threaten you as you try to vote. And you won’t ever have 100 camera angles catching your response as someone pegs you with 90-plus-mph rocks. …
Suspending one of your few black players for language after getting hit … will leave you with white benches.”
