Aaron Judge and Juan Soto proved to be an incredible duo after their successful run in 2024. Judge led the team in home runs, and Soto followed in second place. The Yankees would not have made it to the World Series if it wasn’t for Judge and Soto.
Both players carried the team forward in crucial games, helping them reach the end. While the final output was a disaster, everyone knows that it was the duo that helped them reach that far. With Soto on the free-agency market, several Yankee stars want his back in the Bronx.
Aaron Judge wants the same, but maybe the way he put it out was not good enough for some. Former MLB pitcher Trevor May criticized the Yankees captain for his ‘odd’ stance on Soto’s free agency.
“If you want him, sometimes you just have to flex that muscle a bit because you’re Aaron Judge, man,” May said. “You are the LeBron James of the game right now, so just be him. It is interesting and kind of odd that he was very adamant about not talking to him,” May said.
May was referring to what Judge had previously said about Soto’s coming back to the Yankees. Judge had previously stated that it was essential to give Soto space and let him decide what would be best.
“I think the best thing is to give those guys space. I talked to him all season. He knows how we feel about him. The most important thing is to let him do his thing and come to the right decision for him and his family,” Judge said.

Aaron Judge Met With Hal Steinbrenner Amid Juan Soto Free Agency
Aaron Judge knows the importance of Juan Soto. The slugger met with Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner to discuss the possibility of Soto returning to the team. Judge and Steinbrenner met in Tampa, and he’s keen to bring him back.
May stated that Aaron Judge has a strong personality, and as a Yankees captain, he needs to be more aggressive with Soto. The Yankees have upgraded their offer for Soto, hoping to bring him back soon.
On the other hand, the New York Mets are ready to go all out to pursue the star slugger. Scott Boras and Soto are expected to opt for the highest bid. Yet, many believe that Soto has a personal connection in pinstripes.
