The fallout continues on the cheating scandal by the Houston Astros that has rocked the sport of baseball over the past few weeks. Many people have spoken out about the situation, mostly to bash the Astros, but not many are willing to believe that sign stealing has been going on for quite sometime.
To be fair, the Astros seemed to have have done it in a way that has never been seen before, but that doesn’t make other ways any less acceptable.
A few weeks ago, San Francisco Giants special assistant to the general manager and former All-Star first baseman Will Clark was recently asked about his thoughts on the Astros sign stealing scandal, and instead of ripping the team, he offered up his own hot take on the broader idea of sign stealing.
“They got caught. All the rest of us, we didn’t get caught.”
“Sign stealing and stuff like that has gone on for a while… you try to get third base coach’s signs, try to get the catcher’s signs, you try to get all kinds of people’s signs to help you do your job.”
Clark noted that the camera use was on a different level, but also stated other teams need to use a little common sense.
“You need to use a little common sense. If you think that ‘hey look, these guys are taking pretty darn good swings off of us, they might have our signs,’ change the signs.”

He made sure to add that he thinks the Los Angeles Dodgers should be the 2017 World Series champions.
“No, you will never hear me say that.”
