Tom Guiry, who became famous for his starring role in “The Sandlot,” has been arrested for causing damage to a neighbor’s vehicle in a peculiar incident.
The 42-year-old Tom Guiry played Scot Smalls in The Sandlot, a classic 1993 film about a group of boys playing baseball at a local ballpark. Though the film was minimally successful at the box office, it quickly became regarded as one of the greatest sports movies ever.
According to TMZ, Guiry was arrested in Horry County, South Carolina on June 2 for throwing a weight dumbbell at the windshield of a neighbor’s jeep. TMZ obtained video footage of the incident.
TMZ reports that when officers arrived, Tom Guiry asked about his wife. When the neighbor saw damage to their vehicle and expressed anger, Guiry apologized and said the following:
“That sucks man, I’ll pay you back, I’m sorry, I’m gonna get you back. I did it. I’m sorry man. I’m coming back to get you …I…sorry brother, I’ll pay you back.”
Even more disturbingly, another video shows Tom Guiry standing outside the victim’s home with a knife in his hand. An agitated-looking Guiry was filmed ringing the doorbell and waiting for an answer at the door.

Fans on X/Twitter couldn’t help but make a classic reference to The Sandlot following news of Guiry’s arrest:
Per TMZ, Guiry was subsequently booked for disorderly conduct, malicious damage and assault.
The Sandlot also starred James Earl Ray (notable for his voice as Darth Vader in the Star Wars series), Mike Vitar (Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez), Brandon Quintin Adams (Kenny DeNunez), the late Art LaFleur (Babe Ruth) and Chauncey Leopardi (Squints).
Not Tom Guiry’s First Run-In With The Law
Sadly, this isn’t the first instance where Guiry has been involved in a legal issue. The beloved former Sandlot star was also arrested in August 2013 for head-butting a cop at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.
Guiry allegedly attacked the cop when he was told that he was too inebriated to board a flight. The officer had been called over after staff believed he was incapable of boarding the flight because of his drunken state.
