Dustin May appears to be back to his brilliant best following his Tommy John surgery from a few years ago.
The Los Angeles Dodgers starter was on his way to becoming one of the scariest pitchers in the MLB before said operation derailed his progress. But, having returned during the second half of last season, the 25-year-old seems to have gotten back on track.
Of course, that’s not something hitters were looking forward to, given that he can do what’s shown in the clips below.
May had himself a game against the San Diego Padres on Sunday, allowing just three hits while striking six batters out.
Justin Soto is not one to be easily duped, but that turned out to be exactly what obtained in the first inning as May left him bamboozled courtesy of a 99MPH sinker he adjudged to be heading inside. The pitch ended up breaking 22 inches to the middle of the zone.
May produced similar confusion when Ha-Seong Kim stepped up. The ball had Kim starting for first base before breaking into the zone.

The hitters appeared to be totally annoyed, and who could blame them? Dustin May is going to be a real problem this year.
