It has now been over a year since the Boston Red Sox shocked the baseball world and traded Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers. That trade worked out in year one as the Dodgers would go on to win the World Series.
Just winning the title wasn’t good enough as some fans from Los Angeles wanted to rub it in even more by putting their money together to buy a billboard that reads, “Thank you for Mookie Betts,” at 60-62 Brookline Avenue, Boston – located across the corner from legendary Fenway Park.
Check it out:
“Dear Boston,” the sign reads. “THANK YOU FOR MOOKIE BETTS. Sincerely, Dodger Fans & @pantone294”
Since being traded, Betts has signed a historic 12-year, $365-million extension with the Dodgers and helped lead the club to an elusive World Series title – the franchise’s first since 1988.
