Not all marriage proposals are created equal. Apparently paying for the wedding isn’t either.
One fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers proved that to be true last week at Dodgers Stadium, running onto the field before getting on one knee and looking toward the stands. The fan, Ricardo Juarez, was blasted by security as he proposed.
The bride-to-be, Stephani Gutierrez, apparently said yes despite the disaster on Opening Day.
Juarez was cited by Los Angeles police and released. Now, he needs help to complete his dream. A GoFundMe has been created by the couple to get folks to send over money to help them have their dream wedding.
In a message as part of the GoFundMe, Gutierrez gave some backstory on their relationship and revealed the punishment her fiancé was doled out for running onto the field.
“Hey everybody, You might have seen our viral video where my fiancé proposed to be on the baseball field at Dodger Stadium and he got tackled by security. That’s us!
“We have been together for 3 years now with our 1-year-old child. My fiancé, Ricardo, said his motive was to ensure me how he is willing to go above and beyond. For those wondering, he was only banned for a year, so luckily our son will be able to laugh with us about this at a future Dodgers baseball game!
“Happy to share he’s okay and we’re both at home now. Thank you for all the support we are both so happy and still on cloud 9 with our new engagement!!”

As of this writing, they have just over $600.
Juarez ultimately got off lucky as he received a one-season ban for a pretty serious violation. Most franchises wouldn’t hesitate to ban a fan forever for doing what he did. However, he didn’t run out there nude or try to mess with the players.
A lifetime ban may have earned the Dodgers some backlash, so they just chose the lesser of two evils. Someday soon the married pair will be back in action for a Dodger game.
The couple ended the night engaged and with the Dodgers 1-0 on the season after beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-2 to kick off the 2023 campaign.
