Tim Tebow has been catching a lot of criticism for his hot take when unleashed a rant about a California bill that would allow college athletes to profit from endorsements.
The former Florida Gators quarterback is seriously against students making any type of money while playing for a school.
“We’re changing it from us, from we, from my university, from being an alumni where I care, which makes college sports special, to then, it’s not about us. It’s not about we. It’s just about me,” Tebow said during ESPN’s First Take on Friday. “And yes I know we live in a selfish culture where it’s all about us, but we’re just adding and piling on to that, where it changes what’s special about college football.”
Among the many people who took issue with his opinion was one Dick Vitale.
Although Vitale respected his opinion to say what he feels, he also told him to “get real” as many people are making money off kids, except for the actual kid.
“Hey I respect the right of @TimTebow & his opin about whether college athletes should get paid but Tim get real this is 2019 & everyone is making cash off the kids that perform . Time has come for them to do what the Cal. bill proposes .”
