This is just not fair.
It must be tough being an MLB batter having to go up against Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams.
The 28-year-old All-Star and former NL Rookie of the Year notched his 28th save of the season on Sunday. He did it by striking out three of the four batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth inning, securing the 3-2 victory for his side against the Chicago White Sox.
Williams’ most effective pitch was clearly his changeup, which he used on 67 percent of his pitches. And nearly every time, it made the opposing batter look rather foolish.
Just look at the movement on this pitch, which has since been declared “the best change up of all time.”
Williams has been dominant throughout his young career, but he’s taken things to another level in 2023. Following Saturday’s near-flawless performance, Williams’ ERA sits at 1.36, while his WHIP is a ridiculous 0.93.

Devin’s been a big part of the Brewers’ recent run of success, which has seen them jump back into the top spot in the NL Central. They currently sit 2.5 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs thanks to their current three-game winning streak.
