This could be Aaron Judge’s last season with the Yankees.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman announced on Friday that the two sides could not reach a long-term extension. Soon afterward, the long-term offer was revealed.
It was for seven years and $213.5 million for the 29-year-old.
The sides were still in communication hours before Gerrit Cole was to throw the first pitch to begin the Yankee season against the Red Sox. Judge is entering his walk year and, thus, could be a free agent after the 2022 season without an extension.
