Coming up this Thursday, the Boston Red Sox will taking their talents to Washington D.C. to visit President Donald Trump at the White House. Well, not exactly every member of the Red Sox.
Manager Alex Cora was the latest to come out and decline to visit Trump, citing how he handled hurricane relief efforts in his native Puerto Rico.
He joined a long list of names that will not be attending the function that include Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, Hector Velazquez, and Christian Vazquez:
On Monday, Athletic writer Steve Buckley couldn’t help but to point out the obvious racial divide between those players choosing to attend the White House visit, and those who won’t be there.
Buckley referred to the players who are going to show up as “the White Sox.”

Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price would soon take to Twitter and appeared to call out some of his teammates after quote-tweeting that exact post above that highlighted the racial divide between the players.
That might fly well in the team locker room for a team that is already under .500 early on in the 2019 season.
