David Ortiz’s wife has finally broken her silence on the senseless shooting of her husband in the Dominican Republic over the weekend.
Tiffany Ortiz stated Big Papi is ‘resting comfortably’ after having a second surgery upon arriving in Boston on Monday.
On Tuesday, Tiffany released a statement through the Boston Red Sox to thank the franchise for their efforts to have a plane ready for him to take him from his hometown in Santo Domingo to bring her 43-year-old husband home.
‘He’s is stable, awake and resting comfortably this morning in the ICU where he is expected to remain for the next several days.
‘On behalf of me and my family, I want to thank John and Linda Henry, Tom Werner, Sam Kennedy and the Boston Red Sox for all that they are doing for David and our family, as well as Dr. Larry Ronan and the amazing staff at Massachusetts General Hospital.’
Reports have since surfaced that Big Papi was shot as a result of dealing with the wife of a drug lord, which might explain why the shooter came into the bar and only targeted him.
Tiffany did not speak on that.
