Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz is still this Monday to recover from a senseless shooting that left him being rushed to the hospital after taking a bullet that went through his back and out his stomach as he sat at a bar with friends and fans in the Dominican Republic.
Many reports have surfaced of his condition, but most people wanted to hear from somebody close to him. That would be his father who would soon provide one to ESPN.
Via ESPN:
“His father addressed reporters last night and said that Ortiz had no damage to any organs, but his assistant told ESPN that doctors had to continue working on him late into the night and parts of organs had to be treated/removed. Ortiz is currently in intensive care, but considered stable.”
The gunman, who was obliterated by locals after the shooting, has since been identified as 25-year old Eddy Feliz Garcia.
