Thank goodness.
It’s been over a week since David Ortiz saw his life flash before his eyes after he was senselessly shot in the back by an assailant that was paid close to $8,000 to do so from a man who has since been identified as Alberto Miguel Rodriguez Mota.
On Tuesday, the Boston Red Sox announced Ortiz’s condition has been upgraded to “good” as he continues to recover at a Boston area hospital.
Ortiz “continues to make progress with his recovery in the Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.”
The former Red Sox slugger is said to be able to eat soft foods now and has been in contact with loved ones and former teammates while resting up.
